Since it was founded, OBV SCABRIC has been a prime contractor and partner in numerous projects. This section presents the organization’s most notable projects, both completed and those currently underway.
The États généraux de l'eau are key events for bringing together various stakeholders involved in the management of this vital resource in the Châteauguay area.
Up until May 2023, OBV SCABRIC and its partners have developed decision-making tools, trained municipalities and made the adaptation process visible throughout the Saint-Régis watershed.
This program is offered to agricultural producers located along the Rivière Saint-Régis, which flows through the municipalities of Saint-Isidore and Saint-Constant. This project, conducted in collaboration with a number of partners, is designed to support agricultural producers in changing their farming practices.
Since 2003, OBV SCABRIC has been carrying out a large-scale project in the Rivière aux Outardes watershed. This watershed covers part of the municipalities of Havelock, Hinchinbrooke, Franklin and Ormstown. As part of this project, until 2018, OBV SCABRIC met with landowners to provide them with a personalized workbook including suggestions for actions to improve the habitats of species at risk.
Since 2017, OBV SCABRIC leads a Table de concertation comprising people and organizations with concerns about the Saint-Régis and Saint-Pierre rivers, which experience flooding, erosion and drought.
The 2nd edition of the États généraux de l'eau, held in 2017, highlighted the importance of water in the agricultural environment, updated knowledge and gaps, identified actions carried out on the territory and presented new agri-environmental practices.
