Board members play a central role in setting the organization’s direction. They are elected at the Annual General Meeting for two-year terms. I’ve been a member of the OBV SCABRIC since 2004, as a citizen living on the Ch\u00e2teauguay River. I was then mandated from 2007 to 2013 as a representative of the Roussillon MRC, and was an advisor to the city of Mercier for 8 years. I have been president of the organization since September 7, 2016. I have a Bachelor of Business Administration (BAA) in Marketing Finance. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

As a resident of the Ch\u00e2teauguay River, the quality of the river is of great concern to me. I see it live, I see it suffer, I see it swell on rainy days and run out of water at times, it’s our jewel. We must protect this heritage for future generations. Mr. Richard Motard, a graduate of \u00c9cole Polytechnique de Montr\u00e9al, worked for the City of Saint-Laurent’s Fire Prevention Department for 32 years, including 15 years as Chief of Operations. He was a Ch\u00e2teauguay city councillor from 2005 to 2009. Over the years, Mr. Motard has sat on a number of boards of directors, joining the OBV SCABRIC in November 2005, where he continues to sit as vice-chairman, representing citizens.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Ronald Critchley has been a municipal councillor for the Town of Huntingdon since the late 1990s. He was then delegated by the mayor to represent him at a meeting of the SCABRIC OBV board of directors. His interest in protecting the health of the Ch\u00e2teauguay River motivated him to continue his involvement on the organization’s Board of Directors to this day. Mr. Moretti served 36 years in the Canadian Armed Forces, retiring in August 2012. Mayor of the municipality of Saint-Anicet and Haut-Saint-Laurent MRC representative on the SCABRIC OBV board of directors. For him, the issues surrounding water management are numerous! It’s all about putting your skills to good use and developing new ones.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Its interest in the water cycle is the proper balance of aquatic, terrestrial and aerial ecosystems. Drinking adequate quantities of water is the first rule of health, and it’s an experience of citizenship. I’m also involved in the administrative boards of the Haut-Saint-Laurent ZIP (zone d’intervention prioritaire) committee, co-chair of the Haut-Saint-Laurent – Greater Montreal regional round table and a resident of the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Cities Alliance.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div> \r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\t<\/div> \r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Guy-Julien Mayn\u00e9 served as a municipal advisor in Saint-Hubert from 1984 to 1996, where he initiated the town’s first family policy and participated in numerous committees concerned with citizens’ quality of life. From 2005 to 2017, he was again involved in this capacity in his new adoptive municipality, Sainte-Clotilde, where he also took part in the development of the family policy. He returned to council in 2020 for a few months and decided to run for mayor in December when the position became vacant. In November 2021, he was elected mayor for his first full four-year term.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

His professional experience began in Brussels, where he studied, and continued in Quebec, where he also studied political science. His love of the French language also led him to teach the subject. As a HLM manager, lecturer and now director of a multiservice community center for families and seniors, for which he has set up a toy and thrift shop, he confirms his qualities as a manager and communicator. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Over the years, he has worked alongside members of parliament and ministers, who have entrusted him with various responsibilities in relation to citizens and local organizations. He was even awarded the Quebec Parliament medal in recognition of his commitment. His community involvement continues unabated, and his desire to help his fellow citizens and ensure the well-being of children and the most vulnerable remain his priorities in municipal politics.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Sylvain Payant has been mayor of the Municipality of Saint-Isidore since 2013 and is retired from Bombardier Aerospace. He has been a member of the OBV SCABRIC board of directors for 10 years and is deputy prefect of the MRC de Roussillon. Within the MRC, he is responsible for waste management, the Comit\u00e9 de mise en valeur du territoire agricole, the Comit\u00e9 consultatif agricole, watercourses and the Table des d\u00e9l\u00e9gu\u00e9s, as well as the Route verte committee. Serge Bourdon, sculptor and resident of the Ch\u00e2teauguay River, has been involved with the Comit\u00e9 de R\u00e9habilitation de la Rivi\u00e8re Ch\u00e2teauguay (CRRC) for over 30 years. There was a growing need for an organization like OBV SCABRIC. In February 1993, he was one of the founding members of OBV SCABRIC. Ronald Critchley has been a municipal councillor for the Town of Huntingdon since the late 1990s. He was then delegated by the mayor to represent him at a meeting of the SCABRIC OBV board of directors. His interest in protecting the health of the Ch\u00e2teauguay River motivated him to continue his involvement on the organization’s Board of Directors to this day. Mr. Richard Motard, a graduate of \u00c9cole Polytechnique de Montr\u00e9al, worked for the City of Saint-Laurent’s Fire Prevention Department for 32 years, including 15 years as Chief of Operations. He was a Ch\u00e2teauguay city councillor from 2005 to 2009. Over the years, Mr. Motard has sat on a number of boards of directors, joining the OBV SCABRIC in November 2005, where he continues to sit as vice-chairman, representing citizens.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Josiane Alarie, a McGill University graduate in environmental sciences, worked for OBV SCABRIC for 8 years before pursuing her career as a biologist. She is involved with several organizations.
