Summer 2024 program launched

This morning, at a press conference held as part of the “Mois de l’eau” (Water Month), the OBV SCABRIC announced its summer program alongside Alain Therrien, MNA for La Prairie, the political attachés of Carole Mallette, MNA for Huntingdon, and Claude DeBellefeuille, MNA for Salaberry-Suroît, as well as several partners.

Activities for outdoors enthusiasts

The organization offers a wide range of activities for outdoor enthusiasts. These include a photo and video contest ending June 30, as well as the Grand Splash on July 6, a day of aquatic fun for all, during which contest winners will be announced. Yoga enthusiasts will also have the opportunity to take part in paddleboard sessions from July 3 to August 21, organized in collaboration with the Municipality of Sainte-Martine (registration by June 21, places limited). Cycle-kayak outings are also planned for summer weekends. Training courses, guided outings and many other group activities are on the way!

Note that all these activities are being carried out thanks to Section 1 – Soutien au rayonnement des régions – of the Fonds régions et ruralité of the Ministère des Affaires municipales et de l’Habitation. They are also provided for in the 2018-2023 Action Plan of the Quebec Water Strategy, which deploys concrete measures to protect, use and manage water and aquatic environments in a responsible, integrated and sustainable manner.

A new feature in 2024: online booking for watercraft

In response to growing demand for water-based activities, OBV SCABRIC will be introducing a brand new online reservation system in the coming weeks. Visitors will be able to easily reserve kayaks, canoes, paddleboards and bicycles from the organization’s website. The system is designed to simplify the rental process, reduce waiting times and ensure a seamless experience.

The rental service opens at 10 a.m. on June 21, at Parc Léveillé, 58 rue Saint-Joseph in Sainte-Martine. An important announcement will be made at that time. Stay tuned!
