What is the project goal?

The Riverside Guardian project is divided into two parts.

  • Phase 1: Redeveloping a section of the riverbank in the Parc de la Commune in Châteauguay. This showcase project aims to demonstrate the possibilities that exist for riverbank redevelopment for citizens..
  • Component 2: Door-to-door visits to citizens to raise awareness of issues related to the health of riparian zones and to answer their questions.
OBV SCABRIC is responsible for:
  • To develop, in partnership with the Haut-Saint-Laurent Zip Committee and the City of Châteauguay, a development plan for the riverbank of the Parc de la Commune
  • To participate in the planting of the riparian buffer strip in the fall of 2025
  • To go door-to-door and raise awareness among citizens
  • To develop the content of an explanatory leaflet that will be given to local residents
