A project to assess groundwater recharge to improve water resource resilience in the Montérégie region (ReSource 2022-2024)
What is it?
The project on groundwater recharge in the Montérégie region is aimed at providing a better understanding of the sensitivity of preferential recharge zones. It was set up in collaboration with the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), MRCs, OBVs, Montérégie ZIP committees, COBAVER-VS and Université Laval.
The main targets are:
- Develop regional planning tools for the sustainable protection of groundwater recharge zones and the resource;
- Inform and raise awareness among the population to improve their practices to protect groundwater recharge zones.
OBV SCABRIC is responsible for:
- On-site work and sampling;
- Public education and awareness.
